Shillong, Dec 10: Former Congress MDC from Jowai Central Awhai Andrew Shullai on Saturday joined the opposition All India Trinamool Congress (AITC).

Shullai was welcomed by AITC leader and Leader of Opposition Dr. Mukul Sangma, AITC state president Charles Pyngrope, Opposition chief whip Geogre Lyngdoh and others.

Making a vow to the people of Jowai, Dr. Sangma said, “The building works of the B.Ed college in Jowai is yet to be commissioned. We promise, on behalf of Meghalaya TMC, that we will complete the commissioning in the very first month of taking charge of the government.”
