Tura, March 22: In preparation for the upcoming General Elections to the Lok Sabha, the Election Expenditure Observer, Vinod Kumar Ahirwar, IRS (C & CE), convened a meeting on Friday at the Circuit House, Tura.
During the meeting, the Election Expenditure Observer stressed on the mandatory adherence to the Model Code of Conduct (MCC) guidelines to ensure the smooth conduct of the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.
He further advised election officials to check for the transportation of illegal liquor, other goods, and other related activities to ensure free and fair elections in the district.
Moreover, he urged election officials to monitor the expenditure of the candidates and submit the expenditure statements as and when necessary.
