Tura, Oct 25: The Central Puja Committee (CPC), Tura organised a cleaning drive on Wednesday at the Babupara ghat and parts of the town post Dashami celebrations and the idol immersion rituals on Tuesday along with the help of TMB and other puja committees of the town.
They cleared out the debris from the stream. They also cleared out the trash from the roads that were left during the Dashami procession on Tuesday.
Speaking to Hub News, Arup Nag, General Secretary of CPC Tura, said, “We take this responsibility to clean up the Visarjan (Immersion) Ghat which was clogged because of immersion. As the stream becomes dirty and clogged after immersion, we have engaged our people in collaboration with TMB to do the cleaning of the stream as well as the streets. One garbage collecting Van was also used.”
