Fire Engulfs Game Zone in Rajkot, 9 Children among 22 Killed, SIT Formed

Rajkot, May 25: In a massive fire that engulfed a Game Zone in Rajkot city of Gujrat this evening, at least 22 people lost their lives, including nine children. The death toll may rise as several people are feared trapped inside the TRP Game Zone. Meanwhile, the state government has formed an SIT to investigate the cause of the disaster.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed grief over the incident, stating, “Extremely distressed by the fire mishap in Rajkot. My thoughts are with all those who have lost their loved ones. Prayers for the injured. The local administration is working to provide all possible assistance to those affected.”

It is learned that the gaming zone is owned by a person called Yuvraj Singh Solanki. Police have detained the owner and the manager of the Game Zone interrogation.

Reacting to the incident, Chief Minister of Gujrat Bhupendra Patel said that he has instructed the Municipal Corporation and the administration to immediately launch rescue and relief operations in the fire in the game zone in Rajkot. The state government will provide Rs 4 lakh to the families of the deceased and Rs 50 thousand to the injured.
