Shillong, Aug 11: The Laitumkhrah Police on Sunday afternoon arrested five individuals in connection with hurling a petrol bomb on the bust of JN Bawri, located near Bawri Mansion in the early hours of Sunday.
It maybe mentioned, the incident, which occurred around 4:00 AM, involved unknown miscreants hurling a petrol bomb at the bust and pelting stones at an ATM, booth in the Dhankheti area of Shillong.
A case was then registered at the Laitumkhrah Police Station and the police, along with a forensic team, immediately rushed to the scene to conduct a thorough investigation.
“Five accused persons have been arrested in connection with the case,” East Khasi Hills SP, Sylvester Nongtnger, said.
Following their inquiries and collection of evidence, five suspects were apprehended in connection with the attack.
However, the police have not yet released the names of the arrested individuals, but they are continuing their investigation to determine the motive behind the attack and whether any additional suspects are involved.
