Guwahati, Mar 18: As per reports an official was found dead at Mariani railway station in upper Assam Jorhat on Sunday in a mysterious circumstance. The deceased forest official has been identified as Ratul Gogoi.
His body was found at Selenghat railway station in Mariani, Jorhat district. Gogoi was working as a forest officer at Khanamukh, Sivsagar district.
The family of the deceased alleged that he was allegedly assaulted by a senior official.
The family members claimed that Gogoi had informed them over phone that he would be returning home by train on Saturday and planned to seek medical attention for “serious injuries” sustained during the alleged assault by a superior officer.
The family members have demanded proper investigation of the case and the cause of death.
