Guwahati, Feb 22: Former AASU leader and ex-Bongaigaon Congress president, Shankar Prasad Rai, has joined the Bharatiya Janata Party.
Shankar Prasad joined BJP in the party headquarters on Thursday in the presence of Assam BJP State President, Bhabesh Kalita.
It can be noted that, Shankar Prasad Rai who is known for his past involvement with the All Assam Students’ Union as it’s former State President took the leadership of Bongaigaon Congress before tendering his resignation from the party. He submitted his resignation on February 20, citing “personal reasons”.
