Late Rev. Krickwin Marak was suffering for quite some time from other ailments and had developed complications. He was being rushed to Tura civil hospital from his home in Araimile, near St. Mary’s school, when he passed away.

“He was brought dead to the hospital and was comorbid with other ailments. His death is being treated as a demise from covid since he had tested positive. He is the first victim from covid in the district, this year,” informed West Garo Hills Deputy Commissioner Ram Singh.
Late Rev. Krickwin Marak had worked for many years under the Garo Baptist Convention in the Garo Hills. He was the general secretary of the convention for several years and also the principal of Harding Theological College, Tura.

His death has shocked the church and many of his friends and wellwishers with condolences flowing in from across the Garo Hills.

The total number of cases in West Garo Hills has risen to 160 on Tuesday with 18 new positive cases recorded.

The total number of cases is 232, out of which 160 are active with 71 recoveries and 1 death.
