Shillong, Aug 30: The former Congress legislators, who recently merged with the ruling National People’s Party (NPP), have been appointed as advisers to different departments of the state government.
Umsning legislator Dr Celestine Lyngdoh has been appointed as the Adviser to the Government of Meghalaya, Home (Police) Department & Education Department, and Nongstoin MLA Gabriel Wahlang as Adviser to Government of Meghalaya, Mining and Geology Department and Public Health Engineering Department with effect from the date of assumption of charge and until further orders. They will be entitled to perks & facilities under category “A+”.
Notifications in this regard were issued on Friday.
