Gangtok, Feb 9: Senior leader and former state minister Sher Bahadur Subedi, aged 66, succumbed to cancer on Friday, as confirmed by his family.
Survived by his wife, son, and daughter, Subedi served as a trusted aide to former Chief Minister Pawan Kumar Chamling, holding key portfolios in the previous SDF government, including transport, forest, and rural development.
Representing the Geyzing-Bermoik constituency in West Sikkim for three terms as an MLA.
Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang expressed condolences, stating, “I am deeply saddened to learn about the demise of former minister Shri S B Subedi. My heartfelt condolences go out to the grieving family and friends during this difficult time, and I pray for the departed soul to rest in eternal peace. Om Shanti.”
