Jowai, Oct 16: Former Nartiang legislator and Minister of Land Revenue, Govt. Of Meghalaya, HB Dan passed away on Wednesday morning at his residence in Jowai after a prolonged illness.
H.B. Dan, fondly called as Ma Ten, was elected from Nartiang Constituency for three consecutive terms, in 1978 (Minister of State), 1988 and 1998 (Cabinet Minister).
He also held the position of Leader of Opposition in the Meghalaya State Legislative Assembly.
He was also elected twice as an MDC to the JHADC and was also the CEM of the Council.
HB Dan leaves behind his wife and 7 children.
His funeral will be held on October 18, 2024 at the cemetery of the Balang Presbyterian, Jowai.
