Shillong July 27: Former Phulbari MLA, S. G. Esmatur Mominin, expressed concerns on Friday regarding alleged irregularities in the formation of the managing committee of Jana Priya Higher Secondary School in Bholarbhita village under Selsella Block in West Garo Hills.
In a video statement, Mominin stated, “This is for the information of the department of education and the government of Meghalaya that there is a school, the higher secondary school called Jana Priya Higher Secondary School, Bholarbhita, of which I was the president of the managing committee for a long time. I was also elected an MLA from the same village.”
He claimed, “It has come to my knowledge that some people with vested interests have submitted false proceedings without holding any general meeting or Guardians meeting for the constitution of a regular managing committee of the school. It has also come to my knowledge that there was no order from the District School Education Officer (DSEO) West Garo Hills, Tura, for convening a General meeting for the constitution of the SMC.”
Mominin further alleged that the proceedings were submitted to the DSEO without the principal’s knowledge, stating, “This proceeding was submitted before the DSEO, West Garo Hills, Tura without the knowledge of the principal of this school.”
He concluded by urging the education department and the government of Meghalaya to “kindly not approve the false proceedings, which will be against the interest of the school,” and requested “necessary orders for convening a General meeting for the constitution of a regular SMC in the greater interest of the school.”
