Dibrugarh, Jan 4: Four members of a family sustained injuries in a road accident near Hunli in the Lower Dibang Valley district of Arunachal Pradesh on Saturday.
The mishap occurred when their vehicle, a Ford EcoSport (Regn No. AS 01BF 0234), skidded off the road and plunged into a deep gorge while returning from Anini in Dibang Valley district, according to police reports.
The injured individuals, all residents of Dibrugarh, have been identified as Hiten Buragohain (81), Bedabratta Buragohain (45), Promila Buragohain (41), and Jaslin Buragohain (13).
Police and BRO (GREF) personnel rescued the victims, who were then rushed to Dibrugarh for advanced medical care. Sources indicate that Promila Buragohain’s condition is critical.
The family was part of a group of eight members from two families who had embarked on a holiday trip to Anini on January 1. The accident occurred during their return journey.
Investigation into the incident is underway.
