Tura, Oct 19: After a thrilling showdown amongst the best of the talents in Garo Hills, Frindin A Sangma and Nancy Vianey D Sangma have won the ‘Achik Gun Season 5’ talent show, the grand of which was held at the District Auditorium in Tura on Saturday.

Frindin A Sangma won the singing competition while Nancy Vianey D Sangma won the dancing competition.

The grand finale of the exciting event was part of the 155th Garo Hills Day celebrations. The event was judged by Agustine Ch Marak and Silrikchi Sangma for the dancing category and Shammy Ch Momin and Tengchu Marak for the singing category.

Audition for the competition was held on October 12 in which more than 70 eager talents participated out of which the top 15 talented candidates for each of the categories were selected.

Achik Gun has a mission to cultivate a dynamic platform where young talents from Garo Hills can express their creativity and showcase their skills. It also aims to empower youth by providing opportunities for recognition and growth in various artistic disciplines such as singing, dancing, art, and spoken word.

Meanwhile, in the singing category Chimasa Silgenchi D Shira and Clasian Musinique came in second and third, respectively, and in the dancing category Tengkim R Marak won the second spot and Allevia Nokatchi Ch Sangma claimed the third spot.
