From SU-30 to Rafale, IAF demonstrates spectacular flying skills over Umiam Lake

Shillong, Oct 20: The Eastern Air Command orchestrated a spectacular air show featuring IAF aircraft, including the awe-inspiring Sarang Helicopter Display Team, at Umiam Lake on Friday.

The purpose of this event was twofold: to demonstrate the impeccable skills of our Air Force personnel and to inspire the youth of the North East, with a particular emphasis on Meghalaya, to consider a future in the Indian Armed Forces.

The aerial exhibition featured a mesmerising flypast, featuring ALH and Chinook helicopters, the versatile Dornier transport aircraft, as well as the formidable SU-30 and Rafale fighter jets.

This grand showcase was a pivotal component of the 91st-anniversary celebrations of the Indian Air Force (IAF), held at its headquarters, and was marked by the remarkable performance of the Sarang Helicopter Display Team.

Air Marshal SP Dharkar Air Officer Commanding in Chief of the Eastern Air Command was the chief guest.

The display was witnessed by a large crowd . These included Civil/State/Defence dignitaries, children and the general public.
