Tura, Sep 13: Tura Central Agricultural University College of Community Science and Department of Food Science & Nutrition organised a Fun Food Festival event on Wednesday at their campus in Sangsanggre.
The event was part of the National Nutritional Month 2023 celebration. Like every year, this year’s theme is “Healthy Diet Gawing Affordable For All.”
The event started at 1:00 p.m. and continued until 5:00 p.m., embellished with food and drinks, and there were also music performances by the local artists.
Dr. Ivonne M. Sangma, District MCH Officer, was present at the event as the chief guest. While addressing the event, Sangma spoke about how nutritional food is beneficial for us.
Students from ICFAI University and NEHU, Tura, also attended the event. Also, the event was open to the general public.
At the event, several stalls were set up for food and other items, some by the college students and some by the local entrepreneurs of Tura.
While speaking to the Hub News, Dr. Natasha R. Marak, Assistant Professor in the Department of Food Science and Nutrition of the College of Community Science, said, “These food stalls are giving the message that nutritious food doesn’t need to be expensive; these are all pocket-friendly recipes that people can make by themselves.”
