Shillong, Aug 27: UDP legislator from Mookaiaw, Nujorki Sungoh, on Tuesday urged the state government to speed up sanctioning of fund for construction of the Madan Pohkseh-Lakasein Road in order to improve the economic activities of people from the two districts of East Jaintia Hills and West Jaintia Hills.
“I request the government to kindly speed up sanctioning of the road as it will improve the economic activities of both the districts. Economic activities of the people will be lifted,” Sungoh said in the Assembly.
In his reply, deputy chief minister incharge PWD, Prestone Tynsong, informed that the survey is going on at the moment for construction of the road.
“Negotiation also is on in consultation with the concerned land owners. Once we reach the conclusion, the gift deeds will be signed and then only detailed project report (DPRP) will be prepared,” he said.
