Tura, April 9: The A·chik State Peoples’ Front (ASPF) has called for urgent intervention to renovate the Seelpang Government Lower Primary School, located in the Rongara C&RD Block of South Garo Hills.
In a letter to the Education Minister, the ASPF expressed concern over the poor condition of the school, citing the absence of a proper roof and multiple broken windows, which have made learning difficult for students.

According to the ASPF, the school building has remained untouched since its construction in 1998, with no infrastructural upgrades since then. The deteriorating condition of the facility has made it especially challenging during the rainy season and hot days, affecting both attendance and the learning environment, added the ASPF.
The group also highlighted the dedication of a teacher who personally arranged for a tin roof over the storeroom after the original was damaged in a hailstorm, in order to protect school materials.
