Shillong, Oct 5: Power Minister Abu Taher Mondal on Saturday visited the relief camps in Dalu and adjoining areas and interacted with the affected families.
“Though the situation has improved, weather forecast and cloudy weather indicates heavy to very heavy rainfall in next 24 hrs. The district administration, BDO and his staff are pressed to relief and rehabilitation works. People are advised to be in safer place for next 24 hrs and follow the weather advisory,” Mondal said.
He also informed that all line departments are instructed to take necessary action. Health department staffs are also asked to visit relief camps and provide all supports.
“Electricity is partially restored in Dalu area which will help mobile network and internet connectivity,” he said.
The minister also visited Dalu CHC to take stock of the injured flood victims. He later had a review meeting with the DC, West Garo Hills and BDO, Dalu in Block Office.
