TURA, July 3: A three member kidnappers gang that made a failed attempt to abduct a man returning from Selsella block, two days ago, were arrested by West Garo Hills police on Saturday.
On 1st July 2022, an information was received at Selsella police outpost in the plain belt that a day earlier, on 30/06/2022 at 5:30 pm, a man returning from a meeting in the the Selsella Development Block Office was attacked by two persons namely Nur Alom of Sakmal village and Nazidur Islam of Kandergaon village, both under Rajabala police outpost.
The criminals attacked him at Haldibari village and tried to push him inside a vehicle to kidnap him. The victim managed to fight them back and escaped.
However, the two criminals, now joined by a third member, went in hot pursuit of the victim and again attacked him on another road between Haldibari and Babetpara village. He was saved by the timely arrival of four good Samaritans who rescued and escorted him safely to his home.
Police quickly launched an operation and successfully arrested all three kidnappers, identified as (1) Nur Alom (23), S/o Shri Siddiq Sheikh, R/o Sakmal village, PO – Rajabala, PS – Phulbari, West Garo Hills, (2) Shri Moshaidul Sheikh (22), S/o Lt. Sharifuddin Sheikh, R/o Bhalgaon village, PO – Rajabala, PS – Phulbari, West Garo Hills, and (3) Shri Nazidur Rehman (23), S/o Shri Saidur Rehman, R/o New Bhaitbari village, PO – Bhaitbari, PS – Phulbari, West Garo Hills. They have been forwarded to court while investigation continues and a chargesheet is going to be filed soon, informed West Garo Hills SP Vivekanand Singh Rathore.
