TURA, July 25: West Garo Hills police have found almost 3000 capsules of narcotic drugs from the possession of two Tura boys who were bringing the substance from Assam’s Mankachar town to the region on Monday evening.
Acting on Information received that some miscreants are going to transport narcotic substances from Mankachar, Assam area to Tura, police Nakas or check points were placed in and around strategic places near Tura town to lay the trap to catch the miscreants.
“One suspected Yamaha R15 bike bearing r/no ML-08-G-723 and it’s two occupants Shri Rex John K sangma r/o – Ringre Gittim, tura and Bishal Ch Marak r/o lower balsarang, tura were detained near Ghoramara, Garobadha police investigation centre. And on search they were found in possession of 2856 Nos. of SP capsules (142.8gm tramadol Hydrochloride) and 18 no of nitcor 10 tablets (18 gm nitrazapem IP),” informed SP V S Rathore.
In this connection a case is being registered under NDPS act in appropriate sections and their links are being investigated by police to identify the drug chain and the kingpins.
