Garo Hills shows how to rally peacefully

Must read

TURA, Oct 30: Supporters of Garoland state on Saturday gave an example to others on how to mobilise and organise a peaceful rally while seeking demands, much to the relief of the administration that had been on tenterhooks in the light of unruly mob attacks in Shillong, a day earlier.

In what can be termed as “taking a leaf out of this,” hundreds of protestors for Garoland marched in unison without showing any hatred or abuse on passerby or commuters as they marched through three heavily congested centre points of Tura town.

This was the complete opposite of Shillong where FKJGP rally against unemployment on Friday showed the true color of brute mentality with a section of participants at the rally randomly began assaulting people on roads.

The Tura rally had a large participation by men, women and the youth who marched shouting slogans “We want Garoland” but never raised a finger or a hand on any bystander or commuter during the event.
