Dibrugarh, April 2: In a significant step toward boosting industrial growth in Arunachal Pradesh, GeoEnpro Petroleum Limited (GEPL), a subsidiary of Hindustan Oil Exploration Company (HOEC), has launched its Drilling Campaign-IV by spudding a new development well at the Kharsang Oilfield in Changlang district.
GEPL operates the oilfield in a joint venture with Oil India Limited and JEKPL.
This milestone was marked by the presence of Vishal Shah, Deputy Commissioner of Changlang District, along with CRPF Commandant D.K. Singh and the dedicated team of GeoEnpro.
The drilling campaign aims to enhance crude oil production in Northeast India.
With a portfolio of 70 oil and gas wells, GeoEnpro aims to complete nine wells in the first phase of this campaign. The initiative underscores the company’s commitment to leveraging advanced exploration and production techniques for sustainable energy development.
Speaking on the occasion, Ravishanker Prasad, Head of Operations at GEPL, stated, “The addition of new wells is expected to significantly boost oil production, positively impacting the socio-economic conditions of the region. The company also plans to drill additional development and exploratory wells in the coming years.”
