GHADC MDCs issue clarification on removal, say they resigned, not removed

Must read

Tura, Jan 27: Reacting to the news item of GHADC Chief Executive Member (CEM) Benedic R. Marak removing 3 MDCs – 2 NPP and one Independent – from their posts as Chairman of respective committees, NPP MDC Linekar K Sangma on Thursday clarified that they were not removed but that they resigned from their posts because they have ‘lost confidence in the leadership of present CEM of GHADC’.

“This is to clarify that Linekar K. Sangma along with the other MDCs in Executive Committee resigned from their respective posts as they have lost confidence in the leadership of present CEM of GHADC, who has gradually turned out to be incompetent to lead GHADC,” a statement from Linekar read.

The statement further stated that “his (Benedic) actions have proved that he is not well-learned to understand the mechanism of prestigious institution such as GHADC, which if led blindly, with no vision and proper policies would bring great damage in the long run.”

“As a matter of fact, the MDCs resigned from their respective posts due to lack of confidence in his leadership and withdrew support to his leadership,” the statement added.

Mentionably, three MDCs from the ruling alliance in GHADC were reportedly removed by the CEM Benedic R. Marak from Chairmanship positions on Tuesday (January 25, 2022). He removed Nogorpara NPP MDC Linekar K Sangma from the post of Chairman of Garo Hills Growers association, NPP MDC Sengchim N Sangma from the post of Chairman of the Planning Advisory Committee, and Independent Zikzak MDC Aktar Ali from the post of Chairman of Forest Advisory Committee.
