Tura, September 27: The Government Boy’s Higher Secondary School, Tura, West Garo Hills, held their annual school sports on Wednesday at the Chandmari Playground, Tura.
This is the second day of the event, with tomorrow being the finals. They held the race categories on the Chandmari play ground and had some of the events on the school campus.
There were four houses in which the students were grouped, namely red, yellow, blue, and green houses, with a number of sports disciplines for the students to participate in, like 100m HEATS, 400m HEATS, Sack Race, Cock Fight, Shot Put, 4×100m Relay, Long Jump, Three Legged Race, Spoon Race, Ballon Bursting, Arm Wrestling, and football finals for senior, junior, and sub-junior boys and girls categories accordingly.

Speaking to Hub News, one of the teachers, Nancy A. Sangma from Government Boy’s Higher Secondary School, said, “We had to cut down on some events like javelin throws, discuss throws, etc. because we have to take care of the ground, and as this artificial turf is only meant for football, we have limited our activities.
