On Friday, the HNLC had issued a threat against a police officer they claimed to have identified as the one responsible for the death of the outfit’s former general secretary Cherishterfield Thangkhiew.

Asked, Sangma said that the police have been very active in the past and a lot of arrests have been made and a lot of different kinds of threats that were there have been neutralised.

“And the police are working over time to ensure that all the people who are involved in this kind of activities of disturbing the peace and law and order in the state strong action will be taken against them,” he said.
