Tura, Dec 13: The grand finale of the Tura Champions Trophy was held on Wednesday, featuring an electrifying face-off between Selsella SA and Greenwood Darengre.
The much-anticipated match kicked off at 1 pm, coinciding with the arrival of distinguished guests, including Chief Guest Thomas Sangma, Hon’ble Speaker, Dabo M Marak, NPYF Working President, and several other notable figures.
The clash between Selsella SA and Greenwood Darengre kept fans on the edge of their seats. The first half witnessed a dramatic turn of events as Selsella SA scored a goal during the closing minute.
Post halftime, Greenwood Darengre shifted gears that resulted in four goals against the Selsella SA team. Despite Selsella SA managing to sneak in an additional goal in the latter part of the match, it wasn’t enough to alter the final score. The conclusive outcome was Selsella SA 2 – Greenwood Darengre 4.
The Greenwood Darengre team emerged as the champions of the tournament. Robert Khingjoh from the Greenwood Darengre team earned the distinguished title of Player of the Match while Sunil M Sangma, also representing Greenwood Darengre, was honored as the Player of the Tournament.
