Shillong, July 10: Meghalaya Cabinet Minister Hamletson Dohling Saturday felicitated nine boxers at Gorkha Secondary School, Nongkseh, Shillong.

The objective of the event was to promote sports and recognise the talent of the boxers who are with the Boxing Association of East Khasi Hills.

They had represented East Khasi Hills District at recently held Meghalaya Games 2022.

The players bagged four gold medals, four silver medals and one bronze.

Addressing on the occasion, Dohling expressed his happiness that the youth from Mylliem brought laurel to the entire district.

While lauding the hardwork and dedication of the players, he also praised the coaches for their commitment to train the players.

The program was also attended by the General Secretary of the Boxing Federation of India, Larry Kharpran along with the family members of the nine players.
