Tura, Jan 17: Rongadatgre Youth and Cultural Club (RYCC) successfully organized an Eye and ENT Checkup Camp at Rongadatgre Phulbari, providing much-needed healthcare services to villagers.
The camp was conducted by a team from Etisha Health Care Birta Eye & RNT Hospital, Jhapa, Nepal. Dr. Subash Sangraula, Biswajit Sobor (Pharmacist), Pramod Shrestha (Optician), and Saurab Subedi (Management Officer), conducted theveye camp. 54 plus people attended the camp.
RYCC President Arcosh M. Momin expressed the importance of the initiative, said that, “this camp allows villagers to access essential Eye and ENT checkups without traveling to major towns, saving them significant costs. The team from Nepal brought advanced equipment to craft spectacles on-site, providing immediate relief to patients.” Although the team highlighted that major surgeries would require travel to Nepal.
Nepal is renowned for its advancements in eye care, particularly cataract surgery, which is recognized worldwide for its affordability and effectiveness. The country hosts several world-class eye hospitals, such as the Tilganga Institute of Ophthalmology, which has pioneered cost-effective surgical techniques benefiting patients across South Asia. These innovations have made Nepal a global leader in delivering quality eye care, especially in rural areas.
RYCC has plans to organize similar camps in other parts of the district in the coming months to ensure broader healthcare access for all.
