Hidden weapons of GNLA recovered from Durama Hills

Williamnagar, Dec 12: Meghalaya Police team on Friday recovered a huge cache of ammunition from Patalgre village in Durama range of East Garo Hills.

SP of East Garo Hills Bruno Sangma said that based on source information a raid was conducted to trace the hidden weapons. “A special team of SF-10 commandos were deputed led by a senior police officer for a search operation in Patalgre village,” the SP said.

Around 1.30 am, the police recovered 5 (five) nos. of 7.65 mm automatic pistols.

Police suspect that it belongs to the Garo National Liberation Army (GNLA).

“The recovered weapons are rusted…as they were buried underground for years,” the SP told Hub News.

The weapons have been brought to Williamnagar police station for further investigation and verification. A case has been registered for the same.
