In 1987, the engineering marvel known as Kolia Bhomora Setu was established over the Brahmaputra, serving as a vital link between Tezpur in Sonitpur district (on the northern bank) and Kaliabor in Nagaon District (on the southern bank). This iconic bridge not only enhances connectivity but also symbolizes the synergy of engineering excellence and regional cohesion.
It must be noted that the bridge has been named after the Assamese General, Kalia Bhomora Phukan.
