Guwahati, Dec 1: The historic “Cholo Bangladesh” movement, organized by Sanatani Oikyomanch, has sent ripples across the nation, marking a significant day in the fight for justice and religious rights.

Starting at 10:30 AM from Karimganj College premises with a massive bike rally involving over 2,000 bikes, the movement culminated at the Sutarkandi border.

By 12:00 PM, a gathering of over 60,000 people marked the beginning of the landmark protest.

Prominent speakers, including Shantanu Naik, Coordinator of Sanatani Oikyomanch, Ashit Chakraborty, Chief of Silchar Shankar Math and Mission, Bigananda Maharaj of Bolagiri Ashram, Baikananta Maharaj, and Shibabrarta Saha of RSS, delivered powerful messages addressing the issues of human rights violations and religious persecution.

At 1:30 PM, the movement advanced with a foot march toward the border. Although stopped by BSF and Assam Police personnel about half a kilometer from the border, the protesters showcased unwavering determination, signaling the resilience of their cause.

The movement’s two key demands were:

Unconditional Release of Chinmoy Prabhu: The protestors emphasized that Chinmoy Prabhu’s imprisonment represents a grave violation of human rights. The Sanatani Oikyomanch demanded his immediate release, warning of a larger-scale protest if their demand is not met promptly.

Condemnation of Atrocities Against Hindu Minorities in Bangladesh: The memorandum strongly condemned the looting, rapes, killings, and displacement of Hindus in Bangladesh, calling upon the Bangladeshi government to halt these brutal acts and ensure the safety and rights of the Hindu community.

The Sanatani Oikyomanch highlighted the consistent violations of religious rights, destruction of temples, and displacement of Hindu minorities in Bangladesh. They demanded immediate, concrete action from the Bangladeshi government and resolved to take their protest to the international stage to amplify awareness and pressure for global intervention.

The movement concluded with a call for global unity against all forms of ethnic, religious, and social persecution, affirming that this protest is just the beginning. Sanatani Oikyomanch pledged to continue its fight until the safety and dignity of Hindus in Bangladesh are assured.
