Speaking to media persons HITO president Donbok Dkhar said that they have taken this decision to file a complaint against the head of the district administration because they believe that law is equal to all and since BJP has violated the protocols all those involved in granting permission should be punished accordingly.
“As per law, the Laban PS in-charge has taken our statement and we are confident that the same will be taken from DC, SP an Under Secretary Home (Political) for granting permission to BJP for holding public meeting in Shillong as they have violate the covid protocol as per video clips appear in media report” said Dkhar.
Dkhar said that as per media reports the BJP party booth level meeting of 19-South Shillong Legislative Assembly was held at Assam Club in Laban on 31st July and the permission for the meeting was given on 29th July without the authority of law and without mentioning the protocol and guidelines. He added that HITO had sent a complaint to the DC on 3 August demanding to take action against the BJP for violating the covid protocol by holding a public meeting but till date no action was initiated by the said authority against those culprits.
