Tura, March 14: Tura was transformed into a kaleidoscope of colors on Friday as the Hindu community celebrated the vibrant spring festival of Holi with unparalleled enthusiasm.
Dancing to festive music, partaking in food and drink exchanges and smearing one another with ‘gulal’ (colored powder), marked the day with revelry.
In Tura, the revered Thakurbari temple became the epicenter of the day’s celebrations. The temple grounds resonated with music and the joyous laughter of participants as they embraced the spirit of Holi.
Organized by the Tura Thakurbari Committee, the celebration served as a powerful reminder of the festival’s unifying power, bringing men women and children mingled and shared moments of joy exchanging wishes and smearing one another with coloured powder.
Holi, the Hindu festival of colors, marks the arrival of the spring season in India, Nepal and other South Asian countries as well as the diaspora. It celebrates the divine love between the Hindu god Krishna and his consort Radha, and signifies a time of rebirth and rejuvenation, embracing the positive and letting go of negative energy.
The vibrant spectacle of colors painted a picture of unbridled joy and camaraderie, leaving a lasting impression on all those who attended.
