Shillong, May 25: The Sadar Police on Friday recovered parts of the upper torso from the same drain where a human skull was found a day earlier on Friday.

The police, in a statement, informed, that on 22.05.2024, a suspected human skull was found lying adjacent to a drain on the roadside along Bivar road, Shillong as noticed by passersby who informed the police.

An investigation and search operation were immediately launched to ascertain the identity of the deceased and to locate the remaining body parts. On 23.05.2024, the decomposed lower limbs were found by the search team inside the drain near Bivar road.

Furthermore, on 24.05.2024, the search team recovered parts of the upper torso from the drain after a prolonged search.

The police further informed that the dead body is suspected to be of a male person based on the apparel found on the remains.

The recovered body parts have been sent to NEIGRIHMS, Shillong, for medical examination, added the police and the investigation is underway.
