Shillong, July 13: The Hynniewtrep Youth Council (HYC) has written to Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma and Deputy Chief Minister Prestone Tynsong seeking financial assistance for Dorbar Shnongs as incentives through the Autonomous District Councils (ADCs) to aid their efforts in fight against the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic in the state.

In the letter, HYC general secretary, Roy Kupar Synrem said the active participation, cooperation and responsibilities of the Dorbar Shnongs have become important more than ever in this fight against Covid-19.

The state government and its departments require the full cooperation of the Dorbar Shnongs in order to perform different activities related to the disease.

He said it is a fact that had the Dorbar Shnongs not taken the responsibility and the decision to work together with the government in this fight against Covid-19 by performing different activities in their respective jurisdictions, the State Government would have been in a very difficult situation to contain the spread of virus in the state.

Hence, the Dorbar Shnongs should be appreciated for their contributions and cooperation.
