Tura, Sept 25: The ICFAI University Tura’s National Service Scheme (NSS) units concluded a two-day cleaning drive at Sela Wari riverbank of Asibra village and the campus premises on Wednesday, aligning with the Indian Government’s ‘Swachhata Hi Seva’ initiative.
A total of 50 volunteers took part in the two-day cleaning drive programme, which began on Tuesday. The event was led by Aura Stacey R Marak, NSS Programme Officer and Asst. Prof. Dept of Education.
On Tuesday, the NSS units of ICFAI University Meghalaya organized a cleaning drive at Sela Wari of Asibra Village. The communities also participated in the Cleaning Drive.
On Wednesday, the NSS units organized a cleaning drive at the University premises. The cleaning drive began with the Swacchata Pledge taking ceremony and an awareness on Swacchata which was conducted the NSS Programme Officer & Asst. Prof. Dept of Commerce, Dr. Dikki N Marak.
The community service program brought together students and faculty members who collectively worked towards promoting cleanliness, hygiene, and environmental awareness. Through this drive, the university reaffirmed its commitment to social responsibility and sustainability, collecting over 100+ kilograms of waste and sensitizing locals and students on waste management and segregation practices.
