Tura, May 6: For the purpose of guiding the students who have passed the HSSLC examinations 2025 and the degree students in shaping their future career paths, the ICFAI University Meghalaya, Tura, organized a career awareness session at Springfield Higher Secondary School in Ampati on Tuesday.
Students from Springfiled Higher Secondary School, Ampati Government Higher Secondary School and final year degree students of Ampati Degree College participated in the programme.
Dr Kanika Das, ICFAI’s Department of Education, led a career counselling session for Class 12 and undergraduate humanities students titled “Your Path, Your Purpose: Careers for Humanities Minds.” The session guided students in aligning their interests and skills with careers in Education, Political Science, English, Garo, and Social Work. It covered qualifications, job roles, and workplace settings, while also highlighting scholarship opportunities and placement possibilities provided in the university. The session concluded with an interactive career interest quiz, encouraging students to follow their passion with purpose, in line with the vision of the National Education Policy 2020.

Dr. Dikki N Marak, Assistant Professor, Department of Commerce, ICFAI University Meghalaya, delivered an insightful presentation on the importance of the Commerce stream, highlighting its relevance and benefits for students considering this academic path.
The session was continued by Ankit Agarwal, Assistant Professor, Department of Management, ICFAI. He guided students on various career options after school and graduation, including BBA, BCA, BTTM, and BA Economics, and further studies like MBA, MCA, MTTM, and MA Economics.
Key topics included career pathways, in-demand skills, industry certifications, and tips for professional growth. Students also engaged in a Question & Answer session. The session concluded with a motivational message encouraging students to take charge of their futures.
Muktadul Hussain, ICFAI’s Senior Administrative Officer, introduced the students to the various programs offered by The ICFAI University Meghalaya, encouraging them to make informed academic and career decisions. He elaborated on the range of undergraduate and postgraduate courses available across disciplines like Management, IT, Humanities, and Tourism.
