Tura, Mar 8: The weeklong varsity week of ICFAI University Tura campus concluded on Friday with various cultural programmes.
Mr. and Mrs. ICFAI University was the highlight of the concluding day, which showcased the cultural diversity of the Northeastern states. Traditional attire of the Garo, Khasi, Bodo, Hajong, Naga, Manipuri, and other communities were on display, showcasing the cultural diversity and inclusivity of India.
The week-long varsity week also featured indigenous games like Wa’pong Sika (pushing with bamboo) and Garo traditional version of the Tug of War An’ding Oka, and other sports like sack race, three legged race and many others.
The food diversity of Garo Hills was also on display, with students showcasing their culinary skills by preparing dishes like Na’kam chutney, Do’o Kappa, Wak Kappa, etc.
Former RBI General Manager and President of Garo Baptist Convention, Beryl B Sangma, attended the closing ceremony and spoke on the importance of Artificial Intelligence and AI’s brain integrated circuit.
“AI is taking the world by storm. It makes us change the way we look at things. It is changing our lifestyles,” he said.

Highlighting that AI’s success depends on Integrated Circuit (IC), he said that ICFAI students should remember that IC for AI, which will be known in the future as ICFAI (Integrated Circuit For Artificial Intelligence).
“ICFAI is going to take the whole of India by storm, because ICFAI has got the IC, you have got the brains, you have the power. Therefore ICFAI is going to be a game changer,” he elaborated.
ICFAI Advisor and the Tura Campus Head, Dr. Viola S. B. Sangma also spoke on the occasion and advised the students to study with utmost dedication and achieve their goal in life.
