After the arrest of eight Rohingya immigrants from Tripura, Assam STF chief Partha sarathi Mahanta said that two months ago, the Police team arrested four touts because, without them, it is not possible for an illegal immigrant to enter India and move to other parts of the country.

These touts were using the Indo-Bangladesh border of Tripura for the Rohiyngaas to cross to the India side and use Assam as a corridor to move to other parts of the country.

After arrest, interrogation, and investigation, it was found that most of the touts were from Tripura.

He also said that after getting information about their operation, the Police team is now planning to send teams to various parts of the country.
