Shillong, May 14: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) Shillong has issued a weather alert indicating that isolated places in East Garo Hills, North Garo Hills, and West Garo Hills are very likely to experience thunderstorms and lightning accompanied by light to moderate rain in the next three hours.
The alert, issued at 10:30 PM on May 14, is valid until 1:30 AM on May 15. Residents in the affected regions are advised to take necessary precautions and stay indoors during the period of the advisory.
This is part of a broader weather pattern affecting parts of Meghalaya, with localised thunderstorm activity expected to continue over the region.
