Independence Day 2024: CM to hoist tricolour in Shillong, Prestone at Tura

Shillong, Aug 13: The Government of Meghalaya has announced the list of dignitaries who will preside over the Independence Day celebrations across the state’s district headquarters on August 15. They will hoist the national flag and take the salute at the ceremonial parade.

Chief Minister Conrad K. Sangma will lead the celebrations in Shillong.

Other prominent leaders include Paul Lyngdoh at Nongstoin, Shakllar Warjri at Nongpoh, and A. T. Mondal at Jowai.

Prestone Tyngsong will oversee the event at Tura, with Comingone Ymbon at Williamnagar, and Lahkmen Rymbui at Baghmara.

Dr. Ampareen Lyngdoh will be present at Resubelpara, Sanbor Shullai at Mawkyrwat, Rakkam Sangma at Ampati, and Sniawbhalang Dhar at Khliehriat.

The ceremonies at Mairang, Pynursla, Chokpot, and Raksamgre will be led by Kyrmen Shylla, Ian Botham K. Sangma, Brenning D. Sangma, and Banteidor Lyngdoh, respectively.

Methodius Dkhar will preside over Mawshynrut, Renikton L. Tongkhar at Ranikor, Sosthenes Sohtun at Patharkhmah, Jim Sangma at Rongjeng, Sanjay A. Sangma at Jengjal, and Limison D. Sangma at Dalu.
