India and Bangladesh Reaffirm Commitment to Border Security at High-Level Meeting

Shillong, May 1: In a significant move towards fostering better bilateral relations and border management, the Border Security Force (BSF) of India and the Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) held a sector commander-level coordination meeting at the Gumaghat border outpost in South West Khasi Hills yesterday.

The Indian delegation, led by Deputy Inspector General Manoj Kumar Barnwal of Sector HQ BSF Shillong, met with their Bangladeshi counterparts, headed by Md Saiful Islam Chowdhury, Deputy Director General, Sector Commander BGB, Sylhet. The meeting aimed to address various border-related issues and strengthen the Coordinated Border Management Plan between the two nations.

Both sides engaged in meaningful and cordial discussions during the conference, reflecting the friendly bilateral relationship between India and Bangladesh. The commanders deliberated on matters of mutual interest and agreed to expedite the implementation of decisions taken during the meeting.

The successful coordination meeting highlights the commitment of both countries to maintain peace and tranquility along their shared border. By working together to address border-related challenges, India and Bangladesh demonstrate their resolve to enhance regional stability and promote the well-being of the people residing in the border areas.

The BSF and BGB are expected to continue their collaboration and hold regular meetings to ensure the effective management of the Indo-Bangla border.
