Shillong, Aug 23: Chandrayaan-3, the highly anticipated lunar mission by the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) on Wednesday created History after its lander Vikram touchdown on the unexplored South Pole of the Moon.
After Chandrayaan-3 has successfully soft-landed on the moon, ISRO tweeted, “India, I reached my destination and you too!’: Chandrayaan-3.”

This ambitious mission aimed to further expand the understanding of the lunar surface and its resources, while also paving the way for future manned missions to this region.
Chandrayaan was launched on July 14, 2023, and has been in orbit around the Moon conducting various experiments and collecting valuable data. The successful landing of Vikram on the unexplored South Pole would mark a significant milestone in India’s space exploration endeavours and contribute to the global scientific community’s knowledge of the Moon.
