Guwahati, May 11: Raksha Mantri Rajnath Singh today said Operation Sindoor reaffirmed India’s zero-tolerance approach to terrorism.
“Whether it was the surgical strikes after Uri, the air strikes post-Pulwama, or now the multiple strikes after the Pahalgam attack—the world has witnessed the consequences of targeting India,” Rajnath Singh said on the occasion of the BrahMos Integration and Testing Facility Centre in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, virtually.
“The message is clear: even land across the border is no safe haven for terrorists or their handlers”, he said.
Consequent to the ceasefire and airspace violations on the night of 10-11 May 2025, Chief of Army Staff Upendra Dwivedi reviewed the security situation with the Army Commanders of the Western Borders.

Full authority has been given to the Army Commanders for counteraction in the kinetic domain to any violation of the understanding reached at the DGMO talks on May 10.
“Operation Sindoor was not just a military action—it was a symbol of India’s political, social, and strategic willpower. He described the operation as a decisive demonstration of India’s resolve against terrorism, underlining the capability and determination of the Indian Armed Forces in delivering justice to innocent families affected by acts of terror on Indian soil.
He emphasised that Operation Sindoor specifically targeted terrorist infrastructure in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (Pok), while Indian forces exercised restraint to avoid civilian casualties. In contrast, he said, Pakistan responded by targeting civilian areas in India, including religious sites. “Our Armed Forces responded with unmatched courage and precision, striking deep into Pakistan, including Rawalpindi—home to its military headquarters,” he stated.
He described the BrahMos missile not just as one of the world’s fastest supersonic cruise missiles, but also as a potent symbol of India’s military strength and technological collaboration with Russia. Quoting former President Dr APJ Abdul Kalam—“Fear has no place, only strength respects strength”—the Raksha Mantri said the facility will further solidify India’s position as a global defence power. Media reports were saying India had deployed Brahmos to hit air bases in Pakistan. BrahMos is taken from two rivers, the Brahmaputra of India and the Moskva of Russia.
Spanning 200 acres, the BrahMos facility will handle the integration of booster subassemblies, avionics, propellants, and ramjet engines, with administrative and design blocks also planned. The Rs 300 crore complex is expected to significantly benefit skill development among local students, engineers, and ITI trainees—reducing the need for migration and fostering a thriving industrial ecosystem around it.
