Tura, Aug 7: Monday marked the last match of the pre-quarter final of the Men’s Division of the Inter Mahari Football Tournament. Chada Mahari and Bolwari Mahari teams locked horns in a gripping encounter that kept spectators at the edge of their seats.

However, the exhilarating match was marred by a horrifying incident during the first half.

In a valiant attempt to gain possession of the ball, Gringrang Ch Marak, donning the jersey number 17, from the Chada Mahari team suffered a gruesome back injury. The unfortunate incident momentarily overshadowed the intense battle on the field, with both teams showing concern and support for their fallen comrade.

Despite the unsettling event, the teams showcased tremendous athleticism and displayed exemplary sportsmanship throughout the match. Bolwari Mahari proved to be the dominant force, unleashing a relentless offensive strategy. With remarkable teamwork and skill, they managed to find the back of the net seven times, showcasing their prowess on the football field.

In contrast, Chada Mahari fought valiantly, but their efforts could only bear fruit once, as they scored one goal during the intense face-off.

The final scoreline stood at: Chada 1 – 7 Bolwari.
