Tura, April 4: The ‘Play On’ Inter-School Sports Meet began on Friday with football qualifiers at Don Bosco Higher Secondary School.
Organised by Artsourced in collaboration with the Directorate of Sports and Youth Affairs, the event aims to nurture young athletes and promote sports at the school level.
The opening day featured three exciting matches. Don Bosco School, Rongkhon secured a 2-0 victory over Govt. Boys Higher Secondary School. In the second match, Sherwood School, Tura dominated with a 3-0 win against St. Mary’s Higher Secondary School. The final match saw Montfort Centre for Education claim a 3-0 victory over Don Bosco Higher Secondary School on their home turf.
The tournament features football and basketball as the main events, with nine schools from across Tura participating. Additionally, the meet will include track and field athletics and an E-sports championship.
