Jowai, Aug 24: A Black Flag Peace Rally will be organised by the conglomeration of Jaiñtia Hills NGOs on August 26, 2021.
The conglomeration of NGOs from Jaiñtia Hills which includes the JSU, KSU, HYC, JYF, JSM, MPUF and others under the banner of “Ka Sur ki Nong Jaiñtia” will be organising a “Black Flag Peace Rally” on the 26th of this month as a mark to condemn the recent encounter of former HNLC leader, Chesterfield Thangkhiew on August 13, 2021.
Addressing the press at Jowai on Tuesday, the President of Jaiñtia Students Union, Jersome Shylla informed that the Peace Rally will begin from Khliehriat and culminate in Jowai whereby a meeting will also be held in order to ensure peace and security prevails in the state.
