Shillong, Aug 12: United Democratic Party (UDP) general secretary Jemino Mawthoh on Saturday said that National Education Policy (NEP) has to be implemented in Meghalaya.
“We (as a State) cannot lag behind. NEP has to roll. Our State has to move forward also,” Mawthoh told reporters.
Stating that problems will always be there when new things or any reforms are being introduced, he however said that as the NEHU vice chancellor had opined, all stakeholders have to come together so that NEP can be implemented.
“Problems will be there. There will be difficulties but we have to move ahead and we cannot lag behind. NEP has to be implemented but if there are problems, those problems should be discussed and addressed as to how we resolve those issues faced by the colleges and other stakeholders,” he asserted.
