Guwahati, July 21: Jharkhand chief minister Hemant Soren has donated Rs 2 crore to Assam as flood relief aid. Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma announced this in a post on X on Sunday.
Sarma thanked his Jharkhand counterpart and the people of Jharkhand for the noble gesture, stating, “On behalf of the people of Assam, I deeply appreciate the generosity of the kind-hearted people of Jharkhand and the Hon’ble Chief Minister.”
Over 1.30 lakh people in 23 revenue circles and 423 villages across ten districts of Assam are still affected by floods as of July 21.
